TEMSA COMMITS TO A BETTER WORLD AS UN GLOBAL COMPACT SIGNATORY

Carrying out all its activities in line with sustainability principles, TEMSA has become a UN Global Compact signatory. TEMSA aims to make its social, economic, and environmental commitments more systematic by joining the UN Global Compact.

 

TEMSA, one of the world's leading bus and midibus manufacturers, has become a signatory to the UN Global Compact to accelerate its sustainability journey to reduce environmental impacts, benefit society and create value for its employees.

Introduced in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative with more than 15,000 companies based in more than 160 countries and over 5,000 off-premises signatories and 69 Local Networks. By taking part in the UN Global Compact, TEMSA has universally adopted its operations and strategies in the fields of human rights, labor standards, the environment, and the fight against corruption. It is committed to harmonizing the ten principles and supporting the sustainable development goals in line with these objectives. TEMSA, which has become a part of a global movement comprising sustainable companies and stakeholders, as a UN Global Compact signatory, assumes a shared responsibility to attain a better world with an approach based on sustainability principles.



MORE THAN HALF OF BUS PRODUCTION WILL BE ELECTRIC

One of the most important items in the sustainability agenda for TEMSA, which believes that successes in the field of sustainability will be decisive in the future of companies, is its responsibilities toward the environment. In this context, the company focuses on reducing the deepening effects of the climate crisis, energy efficiency for low-carbon growth and the use of renewable energy With the vision of "Smart Mobility", which it defines as sustainable and smart mobility, the company tries to reduce its environmental impact by reducing the carbon footprint of its products with electric vehicles and battery technologies Today, TEMSA, is positioned as the leading player of the market in target geographies.
The company, which led Turkey's goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions to zero for all new trucks and buses at the COP26 Climate Summit, plans to meet more than half of its total bus volume from electric vehicles in 2025.
